Prophecy Update #462 – Daniel Days

Every Sunday we present a prophecy update.  We show how news and trends in the world corroborate centuries-old prophecies you read in the Bible.

Fully 80% of the Bible’s approximately 2500 prophecies have been fulfilled to the letter.  The prime example I would give, in modern times, is the miraculous rebirth of Israel as a nation in her ancient homeland.

The remaining 20% of yet-to-be fulfilled prophecies have to do with the Last Days in which we are living.

Thus you’d expect to find news and trends that corroborate the yet-to-be-fulfilled prophecies.

I need to preface this weeks update by saying that we are not setting any dates.  I’m simply reporting what was said by others.

BreakingnewsIsrael.com posted an article titled, Ancient Secret of Daniel’s 70 Weeks Predicts End of Days Will Come This Year.

Excerpts:

An obscure 300-year old interpretation of the Book of Daniel presents a precise calculation which indicates the prophet spoke of this year as bringing the end of days.  One rabbi agrees, believing that Daniel’s ancient, hidden secrets are being revealed now as never before.

If you go to the article, you can follow the calculations.  It’s complicated, and probably erroneous, but worth reading.

It’s important for another reason:

Rabbi Yosef Berger, rabbi of the Tomb of King David on Mount Zion, explained why ancient prophecies like Daniel are being studied with new understanding today.

“What Daniel wrote about the End of Days, our greatest sages have been trying to understand for generations.  But the real meanings were intentionally hidden.  Daniel himself said that these things will remain hidden until the end,” he told Breaking Israel News.

“Now, in our day, everything is being opened up,” Berger said.  “We are discovering these sources that hint at the Messiah that have existed for generations, and only now can we interpret them properly.  This is a clear sign that they are now being intentionally revealed.”

It’s one thing for an Evangelical Christian to say this; it’s something entirely different for a Jewish rabbi.  It’s a fulfillment of the prediction in Daniel 12:9, “And he said: ‘Go thy way, Daniel; for the words are shut up and sealed till the time of the end.’”

As far as the End of Days, while we are interested in following these trends, we’re not waiting for any particular sign.

Jesus promised He’d come and resurrect the dead in Christ, and rapture living believers.  There are no prophecies needing to be fulfilled prior to the rapture.  It is presented in the Bible as an imminent event.
Are you ready for the rapture?  If not, get ready, stay ready, and keep looking up.  Ready or not, Jesus is coming!
