Each week we present what we call a Prophecy Update.  This is #416 in that series.

If you are a regular, you know that 80% of the almost 2500 prophecies in the Bible have been fulfilled to the letter.  The remaining 20% must therefore also be fulfilled.

We ought to be able to identify trends in the world, and hard news items, that would be expected in the light of the yet-to-be-fulfilled prophecies.

For example, futurists who took Bible prophecy literally predicted that, in the last days, there would be a Revived Roman Empire.  The European Union (EU) seems a likely candidate to ultimately fulfill that prophecy.

It’s at least interesting, and worth watching, in light of prophecy.

Just when you thought the EU was fading, this article was posted, titled, EPP leaders bang drum for European army.

… leaders will greenlight a plan to move towards an EU defense union at the European People’s Party congress in Madrid next week, EurActiv.com has learned.

In a strategic paper which will be adopted at the Congress, and obtained by EurActiv.com, EPP leaders will say that the various crises in Europe’s neighborhood have taken the bloc to a moment of truth.

“We are going to move towards an EU army much faster than people believe,” said EPP president Joseph Daul to a small group of journalists on Thursday (15 October).

The EPP is the largest European-level political party, and currently includes 10 EU and 6 non-EU heads of state and government.

Another source said,

Bureaucrats in Brussels are trying to capitalize on concerns over “Russian aggression” and the migrant crisis to push through the long-held ambitions for a European army.

The paper released calls for a ‘European operational headquarters’ to replace the system of national governments directing their own forces.

The draft plan also demands that power over border control, including European coastguard responsibilities, should be handed to the new army.

We are not saying that the current EU is the Revived Roman Empire.

What we are saying is that from reading the Bible, folks have long suspected the European nations would unite as a world power; and that’s exactly what we see happening in the world.

While we see the signs, we are not waiting for anything to happen before the Lord comes to resurrect the dead in Christ, and to rapture living believers.  That event is imminent, pretribulational, and premillennial.

Are you ready for the rapture?  If not, get ready, stay ready, and keep looking up.  Ready or not, Jesus is coming!
