Prophecy Update #823 – Dust Men Tell Their Tales

We reserve a few minutes to discuss current trends that you’d expect from reading Bible prophecy.

I’ve been talking more about the Dead Sea Scrolls. The Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered between 1947 and 1956 in caves near Qumran by the Dead Sea.^[1] They include over 900 ancient Jewish texts, dating from about 250 BC to  70AD. Among them are portions & fragments from every book of the Old Testament (except Esther), the writings of a Jewish group known as the Essenes, and other manuscripts. The scrolls confirm the accuracy of the Hebrew Scriptures and provide valuable insight into Jewish beliefs during the Second Temple period.

Ken Johnson is a Dead Sea Scrolls scholar. I came across the following in his book, Ancient Prophecies from the Dead Sea Scrolls:

“It is interesting that the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls seems to have been prophesied by Isaiah, and the very first Dead Sea Scroll to come into Israeli hands was the Great Isaiah Scroll. A professor purchased that first scroll on the very day that Israel became a state in 1948AD. Also amazing is that the Temple Scroll and the Damascus Document^[2] came into Israeli hands during the Six Day War (1967). That was the war which resulted in Israel taking control of the Temple Mount! These facts cannot be a coincidence.”

The passage in Isaiah is 29:1-7. We don’t have time to look at it in depth, but here are a few points:

• Isaiah 29 begins with God pronouncing judgment on Jerusalem, siding with her enemies to bring her low – a prophecy fulfilled in AD 70-135 AD with the destruction of the Temple and Jewish dispersion.
• During this time, the Essenes hid the Dead Sea Scrolls in caves.
• Isaiah then says the dead “speak from the dust.” There is only one way the ancients, who are dead could speak to us today. That is by finding their records in the dust of the ground where they buried them.
• Isaiah 29:5-7 describes a future war where God defends Israel against enemy nations. This aligns with Israel’s rebirth in 1948 and the recovery of ancient scrolls, restoring long-lost knowledge.

Both Daniel & the apostle John wrote portions that the Lord told them would be kept hidden until the Last Days.^[3] The angel told Daniel, “Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time of the end.”

How can writings from Daniel & John be “closed & sealed,” but then be revealed in the Last Days? By them being discovered!

The Bible predicts ancient writings will again speak from the dust, and we are discovering ancient writings that speak from the dust.

Revelation 3:10 is foundational to what we believe about the Last Days. Jesus wrote, “Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.”

• “The hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world” is not just a time of intense persecution. It comes upon the “whole world” at once.
• It is “THE hour of trial, the Tribulation, predicted in the Bible.
• “Those who dwell on the earth” is not the way God would describe believers enduring the Great Tribulation. He doesn’t see us as one group.
• Each of the letters of the seven churches is for all the churches.

We are going to be gone before this hour of trial begins. Jesus will return the clouds, resurrect the dead in Christ from the church age, then we who are alive and remain, shall be changed, raptured to heaven in glorified bodies.

Prophecy Update #822 – River Walk

We reserve a few minutes to discuss current trends that you’d expect from reading Bible prophecy.

We don’t hear about it very often, but there are geographical changes happening right now in Israel that are in accordance with unfulfilled prophecies. For example, in the book of Ezekiel, we read,

Ezk 47:6  He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen this?” Then he brought me and returned me to the bank of the river.

Ezk 47:7  When I returned, there, along the bank of the river, were very many trees on one side and the other.

Ezk 47:8  Then he said to me: “This water flows toward the eastern region, goes down into the valley, and enters the sea. When it reaches the sea, its waters are healed.

Ezk 47:9  And it shall be that every living thing that moves, wherever the rivers go, will live. There will be a very great multitude of fish, because these waters go there; for they will be healed, and everything will live wherever the river goes.

Ezk 47:10  It shall be that fishermen will stand by it from En Gedi to En Eglaim; they will be places for spreading their nets. Their fish will be of the same kinds as the fish of the Great Sea, exceedingly many.

Ezk 47:11  But its swamps and marshes will not be healed; they will be given over to salt.

I watched a cool video^[1] showing three of these things occurring right now:

1. Water is running down into the Dead Sea and being purified along the way.
2. Craters are forming naturally, capturing the salt.
3. The fish are small, but they are there.

The craters are called bolaines (Bo-LAN-o) There are over 9000; two more form everyday. It is a natural occurrence. BTW: This is only happening on the Israeli side of the Dead Sea!

These are indicators pointing towards the prophetic future described in Ezekiel.

Prophecy often times has a near fulfillment and far fulfillment. We are seeing a near fulfillment. And it is absolutely amazing because none of it is man-made.

Maybe you saw this in the news. I don’t think it is prophetic; just weird. The UK plans open-air experiments in solar geo-engineering to reduce incoming solar radiation and mitigate global warming.^[2] The primary method involves stratospheric aerosol injection, inspired by the temporary cooling caused by volcanic eruptions. An alternative strategy under consideration is cloud brightening using sea salt. What could go wrong?

Jesus promised His Church, “I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the Earth” (Revelation 3:10).

The resurrection and rapture of the church is always imminent. It could happen any moment; nothing needs to happen before it.

Prophecy Update #821 – A Dire Situation

We reserve a few minutes to discuss current trends that you’d expect from reading Bible prophecy.

Biometrics, Artificial Intelligence, cashless commerce, the manipulation of human DNA, global government, instantaneous global communication, and the movement to rebuild a Temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

These are predicted in the Bible and are trending in the world.

One of the Lord’s well known teachings we call The Olivet Discourse.^[1] It is His overview of the 7yrs on Earth after the resurrection & rapture of the Church, and before His Second Coming.

He said, “But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark…”^[2]

Who will be getting married while the world is collapsing?

The Days of Noah are described in the 6^th chapter of Genesis. A major reveal is that “the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose… There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.”^[3]

The “sons of God” are fallen angels. They were having children with human women, producing a race of giants called Nephilim.

This interpretation rises above the rest on account that it is verified by the Dead Sea Scrolls. Fragments of The Book of the Giants were found. Here is a relevant quote: “The angels defiled their women, who begot giants and monsters. The entire earth was corrupted by this blood and by the hand of the giants who devoured much flesh. What the giants did not eat, the monsters attacked.”

Those are the days of Noah that Jesus was pointing us to.

Why were they doing it? Fallen angels were assaulting the DNA of the human race in an effort to contaminate us. The Book of the Giants describes the process angels used to achieve their evil ends.

We interpret modern genetic manipulation, like gene editing, cloning, or transhumanism, as a similar End Times effort to contaminate the human race.

You may have seen the news. The article was titled, Scientists perform world’s first de-extinction to revive the dire wolf that vanished 12,000 years ago. The CEO and co-founder of Colossal Bioscience, Ben Lamm, said in a statement: “Our team took DNA from a 13,000-year-old tooth and a 72,000-year-old skull and made healthy dire wolf puppies.”

Meanwhile, ‘Made in China’ is taking on new meaning. Ben Lamm was Joe Rogan’s guest on episode #2031 of the Joe Rogan Experience. According to Lamm, China has already created genetically modified children.

The only thing we are suggesting is this: Jesus said it would be like the Days of Noah, and it is.

Prophecy Update #820 – Keep Scrolling

We reserve a few minutes to discuss current trends that you’d expect from reading Bible prophecy.

Biometrics, Artificial Intelligence, cashless commerce, the manipulation of human DNA, global government, instantaneous global communication, and the movement to rebuild a Temple on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

These are predicted in the Bible and are trending as never before.

There is a fascinating phrase in the last chapter of the OT Book of Daniel. It is Daniel 12:4, “But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”

It is possible to interpret “knowledge shall increase” as a growing understanding of biblical prophecy, particularly Israel’s role which we as dispensationalists emphasize in our teaching about prophecy. As the end approaches, God will allow greater & greater insight into prophetic truths.

Another way to interpret the phrase “knowledge shall increase” is that there will be a surge in knowledge, technology, and information. It is a prophecy pointing to the modern era, where rapid advances in science, communication, and global travel are viewed as signs that the world is moving closer to the fulfillment of End Times events.

There is another way of interpreting this, one that is fairly new, but very likely correct. It has to do with the Dead Sea Scrolls.

The Dead Sea Scrolls are genuine manuscripts written between 250BC & 70AD. They were first found in 1947 in the Qumran caves near the Dead Sea. They consist of biblical texts, commentaries, and Essene writings.

The most recent discovery of fragments occurred in March 2021. Archaeologists from the Israel Antiquities Authority uncovered more than 80 fragments. These fragments contain Greek translations of the Zechariah and Nahum.

When discussing the Dead Sea Scrolls, the term “fragments” comes-up often. It refers to the small, often broken, pieces of parchment or papyrus that make up much of the collection. Keep that in mind.

The Bible tells us that the OT prophet Elijah founded a school of the prophets. Among other things, the school produced a book of the teachings of Elijah. It is called the Tanna Eliyihu. We do not have that manuscript, but we do have commentaries written about it dating from the 3^rd century.  In one of those commentaries we read, “As it was said [by Elijah], ‘Truth will be found in fragments.’ ”

That’s likely a prophecy about the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls.

What “truth” could that be, seeing the Bible is complete? Both Daniel & the apostle John were told to hold back some of what they wrote. It would be made known in the last days. Elijah was almost certainly talking about those missing “fragments”.

By far the most significant “increase in knowledge” is the surge of Artificial Intelligence (AI). It is the one tech advancement that can bring all the others together.

As to “knowledge,” some believe that AI can surpass human intelligence, predicting it could happen within the next few decades. In fact, it has many worried.

Elon Musk, when he isn’t putting out Tesla fires, considers AI “the most serious threat to the survival of the human race.”

A landmark report by AI experts concluded, “The potential for artificial intelligence systems to be used for malicious acts is increasing.”

We are not saying that AI will be the fulfillment of these and other prophecies. We are pointing out that AI, and the many other amazing tech advances, are what you would expect to see setting the stage for the End.

I mentioned that the Church & Israel have separate destinies. All Israel that survives the coming 7yr Great Tribulation will be saved.

Prophecy Update #818 – His Number Is 6GG

We are futurists. We interpret all unfulfilled prophetic passages as future events that will occur in a literal, physical, apocalyptic, and global context.

Biometrics, Artificial Intelligence, cashless commerce, the manipulation of human DNA, global government, instantaneous global communication, the exponential growth of human knowledge, and the movement to rebuild a Temple on the Temple

Mount in Jerusalem.

These are predicted in the Bible and are trending as never before.

Technological advances interest us because the Book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ predicts a global government whose cashless economy and services will be accessed by a personal biometric identifier. This identifier, on the forehead or hand, will be necessary for a citizen to make purchases and to participate in society. It will create a tyrannical surveillance society. Once considered fanciful – that system could be implemented right now.

6G is coming.

One source reported, “6G is the next-generation wireless technology that will succeed 5G, promising significantly faster speeds, lower latency, and more efficient connectivity. It is expected to enable new advancements in artificial intelligence, immersive augmented and virtual reality, and internet-of-things (IoT) applications. Unlike 5G, which primarily improves mobile broadband, 6G aims to integrate AI-driven networks, terahertz (THz) frequencies, and advanced computing to support smart cities, autonomous systems, and even brain-computer interfaces.”

Did you catch all that? 6G isn’t simply a better phone network. Artificial Intelligence… Immersive augmented and virtual reality… Internet-of-things (IoT) applications… Advanced computing to support Smart Cities, autonomous systems, and even brain-computer interfaces.

6G will bring together many of the the End Times technologies we talk about. It perfectly describes the rule of antichrist.

They’re predicting a launch by 2030.

Author David Bowen writes, “This has been a slow, deliberate march toward total surveillance, control, and the erosion of individual autonomy. Let’s understand this has been forty years in the making. 6G isn’t just about faster internet, it’s about complete integration with AI, automation, and global connectivity.”

Samsung is saying 6G will revolutionize the way people interact with technology. They say 6G will address economic, environmental, and societal needs. It will be used in entertainment, medicine, education, and manufacturing.

Quoting David Bowen again, “6G will mean the total automation of society – every action, conversation, and movement tracked, monitored, and potentially controlled.”^[1]

That is a good description of the reach & authority the government of the future Great Tribulation will exercise.

Anybody like Taco Bell? KFC? How about Pizza Hut? I read an article this week about their parent company. Its title was, Yum Bets Big On AI As It Attempts To Move To 100% Digital Sales.

Excerpts:

Chief Financial Officer Chris Turner talked about the company’s goal of complete digital sales… saying “Digital sales up approximately 15% and digital mix surpassing 50%.”

Turner said Yum Brands is able to do this through Byte by Yum!, a proprietary software and digital ecosystem that includes AI-driven products for easier operations.

The platform will be used by both employees and customers. The technology will power mobile apps, web ordering, point of sale, kitchen and delivery optimization, menu management, inventory and labor management and various team member tools.

Currently, 25,000 Yum restaurants, which include KFC International, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut across the world use at least one Byte by Yum! product.^[1]
