We focus on Bible prophecy each week for about five-minutes, calling it a “Prophecy Update.”

I was thinking about the apostle Peter. I think he would have done prophecy updates.

Seriously. A lot of what he wrote in his two biblical letters is about fulfilled and future prophecy. It seems that he and Jude belonged to a book club, and that they read The Book of Enoch. It’s a non-canonical book, mostly prophetic, that both Peter and Jude quote from in their letters.

With somewhere around 500 prophecies regarding the Last Days that are yet to be fulfilled, we ought to be able to identify trends in the world that are to be expected in light of those prophecies.

Jesus told us that the Last Days would “be like the days of Noah.” He specified what He meant when He said, “For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage…” (Matthew 24:38).

In Genesis chapter six, the Bible describes the marriages Jesus was referring to:

Gen 6:2 …the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose…
Gen 6:4 There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.

The “sons of God” were fallen angels, and they were marrying and mating with human women. Their offspring were called Nephilim. They are described, both in the Bible and in other literature of the time, as a race of cannibalistic giants.

The fallen angels in Noah’s day were corrupting the human race by manipulating DNA. I know; it sounds weird. But it’s right there, in God’s Word.

You’d expect a trend towards messing with human DNA. That is exactly what we are doing.

I reported in an earlier update on a Chinese scientist who was altering the DNA of embryos. A follow-up article was titled, China’s gene-edited babies may have enhanced intelligence due to genetic quirk.

Now, researchers believe that the twin girls [named Lulu and Nana] who were reportedly born healthy may actually have altered brain function as a result. In fact, it’s possible that the deletion of the gene, called CCR5, might have actually made them smarter than they would otherwise have been…

Hopefully, if they are altered, they will be more Steve Rogers than the Red Skull.

DNA manipulation is what you’d expect from reading the Bible.

As believers, we expect that Jesus could return at any moment.

Jesus promised He’d return to rapture His church – which entails the resurrection of the dead in Christ of the Church Age, then the translation from earth to Heaven of all living believers.

Just as Enoch was removed from the earth in a rapture prior to the global flood, so will we be removed from the earth prior to the global Great Tribulation.

It is presented in the Bible as an imminent (any-momenta) event.
