Prophecy Update #671 – You Had A Friend In Me

We reserve a few minutes to discuss current trends that you’d expect from reading Bible prophecy.

We are futurists. We interpret all unfulfilled prophetic passages as future events that will occur in a literal, physical, apocalyptic, and global context.

Biometrics, Artificial Intelligence, cashless commerce, the manipulation of human DNA, global government, the exponential growth of human knowledge, and the rebirth of national Israel are End Times phenomena the Bible predicts. All of these are increasingly trending in the news.

A story that didn’t receive much attention may be the most important thing that happened this week, at least from the perspective of Bible prophecy. It was titled, Biden Tells Israeli Government He’s Reversing Trump’s Jerusalem Move Despite Its Strong Objections.

Excerpts:

President Joe Biden is expected to reopen the US consulate in Jerusalem, in a reversal of a decision by former President Donald Trump. When the Trump administration moved the US Embassy in 2019 from Tel Aviv to Israel’s capital city of Jerusalem, the consulate was merged with the new embassy. The Biden administration has its eyes set on overturning the decision made by the Trump administration, despite Israeli objections.

USA Today reported, Secretary of State Antony Blinken said Tuesday the Biden administration would reopen its consulate in Jerusalem, which had served as a de facto embassy for the Palestinians until former President Donald Trump shuttered it in 2019.

“That’s an important way for our country to engage with and provide support to the Palestinian people,” Blinken told reporters after meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

The rebirth of national Israel was a direct fulfillment of many Bible prophecies.

The prophets also foretold that the city of Jerusalem would cause international problems. For instance, Zechariah predicted “And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it” (12:3). Zechariah was looking all the way forward to Armageddon. Nevertheless he prophesied that Jerusalem would exist in the Last Days and be a source of international strife.

There is an important passage in the Bible where God promises to bless those who support Israel and to curse those who do not. In Genesis we read, “I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed” (12:3).

Christians are called to show love to the people of Israel and to pray for them: “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you” (Psalm 122:6).

Israel is the apple of God’s eye (Zechariah 2:8). Lack of support for her national sovereignty, and especially her rights to Jerusalem, don’t bode well for us.

We believe the resurrection and rapture of the church is imminent. It could happen at any moment; nothing needs to happen before it. It will happen before the Great Tribulation.

Are you ready for the rapture? If not, Get ready; Stay ready; Keep looking up.

Ready or not, Jesus is coming!
