Prophecy Update #396 – FaceTime

We are now in our eighth year of presenting a Prophecy Update.  This is #396 in that series.

We talk a lot about prophecy because one quarter of the Bible is devoted to it.  One in every four verses is either a fulfilled prophecy, or a future one awaiting its fulfillment.

Eighty-percent have already come true.  Since those that have not come true are all concerned with the end of the world, all that could have taken place has already done so, with 100% accuracy, giving us ample proof that the remaining prophecies will be literally fulfilled.

What do we mean by “Prophecy Update?”  Knowing the end times prophecies, it is our belief that we can therefore identify trends in the world, and news, that would be expected in light of them.

We’re not saying that the things we report are the fulfillment of prophecies – only that they are what you’d expect to be happening in the light of what we know about the future.

If these are the last days, you’d expect to see advances in technology that allow a mark of some kind in your hand or forehead to identify you, and allow you to transact all your daily business.

I don’t know if facial recognition technology qualifies as a mark in your forehead; but there continue to be advances in its use.

Telegraph.comUK posted an article titled, China unveils world’s first facial recognition ATM.

Excerpts:

The new cash machine was developed by Tsinghua University, a research university in Beijing, and Tzekwan Technology, a Hangzhou-based company specializing in financial security protection, Chinese state media reported.

The ATM works by mapping facial data and matching it against an ID database. The technique, commonly used in surveillance, is called biometric authentication and uses facial feature and iris recognition.

Developers say it can even identify if facial features have changed.

Facial recognition technology is the Department of Homeland Security’s new tool for tightening border security.  It’s getting a tryout at a major airport for the next three months.  The new technology is being used to help identify foreigners who stay in the United States too long.

Another article was titled, US Customs Quietly Launches Facial Recognition Experiment at DC Airport.

Excerpts:
The next time you come back from overseas and flash your American passport at Washington DC’s Dulles airport, customs officers might take a picture of you and use facial recognition technology to figure out if you really are who you say you are.

On March 11, the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) quietly rolled out a new facial recognition pilot program to help custom officers catch “imposters,” or people using a passport that isn’t theirs, an agency spokesperson confirmed.

The pilot is part of a larger effort to modernize US customs practices with the use of new technologies as part of the Apex Air Entry and Exit Re-Engineering (AEER) Project.

And it’s only the first of at least three experiments labeled “Targeted Biometric Operations,” according to a previously undisclosed CBP presentation.

Biometric technologies, like facial recognition, are not the Mark of the Beast.

But, from reading the Bible, we would expect rapid advances in the area of biometrics.  And that is exactly what we see happening.

We don’t need to see anything happen, or to be fulfilled, before Jesus can resurrect and rapture the church.  It is presented in the Bible as imminent.

Are you ready for the rapture?  If not, get ready, stay ready, and keep looking up.  Ready or not, Jesus is coming!
