Prophecy Update #478 – Thumbtime Soon

We talk quite a bit about biometrics.  That’s because the apostle John, in the first century, said that in the future human beings would be identified and conduct all of their business using a personal identifier either in them, or on them.

It seemed ridiculous until just recently.  Today there is news almost everyday about the latest trend towards a cashless society in which we each have our own unique id on or in us.

The latest advance I’m aware of is coming soon from MasterCard.  The article I read was titled, MasterCard is testing new cards with fingerprint sensors to keep your money safe.

Excerpts:

The company announced on Thursday that it’s successfully wrapped up a pair of trials of cards with biometric sensors in South Africa and is ready to roll out the technology to a larger audience.

The fingerprint sensor is another step in security for card holders, and MasterCard boasts that with the addition of the sensor, transactions “can then be approved with the card never leaving the consumer’s hand.”

Think of the new sensors as an increased security measure (in addition to the relatively new chip technology): while the chip is a more secure way of making a transaction over the magnetic stripe, the fingerprint sensor ads a biometric security element, meaning the card holder has to be there to approve the transaction.

According to MasterCard, an additional two to three commercial programs are expected to roll out by the end of the year, setting the stage for a wider rollout, including the U.S., down the line.

Some sort of biometric system will be in place during the future seven-year Great Tribulation.  In the very middle of the Tribulation, the world leader we call the antichrist will use that system to demand the world’s population swear allegiance to him.  If a person won’t, he or she is easily cut-off from buying or selling, or conducting any daily business.

What MasterCard and others are doing with biometric technology is exactly what you’d expect from a literal reading of Bible prophecy.

While we recognize the signs of the times, we’re not looking for any particular sign before the Lord can return.  Jesus promised He’d come in the clouds to resurrect the dead in Christ, and rapture living believers.

There are no prophecies needing to be fulfilled prior to the rapture.  It is presented in the Bible as an imminent event.

Are you ready for the rapture?  If not, get ready, stay ready, and keep looking up.  Ready or not, Jesus is coming!
