The Bible is about 25-30% prophecy. Fully two thousand five hundred prophecies have been miraculously fulfilled.

Approximately five hundred end times Bible prophecies remain to be fulfilled. You’d therefore expect there to be news, and trends, that anticipate their fulfillment.

That’s why each week we present what we call a Prophecy Update.

We read in the Revelation of Jesus Christ that a leader will emerge who will be an absolute monarch over many of the governments of the world. We know him best as the antichrist.

I found it interesting that Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, warned recently of a way one individual might, in fact, rise to such power. The article was titled, Leader in artificial intelligence will rule the world.

Excerpts:

Russian President Vladimir Putin says that whoever reaches a breakthrough in developing artificial intelligence will come to dominate the world.
Putin, speaking Friday at a meeting with students, said the development of AI raises “colossal opportunities and threats that are difficult to predict now.”

He warned that “the one who becomes the leader in this sphere will be the ruler of the world.”

Putin isn’t the only person issuing warnings about AI. Another article reported the following:

Elon Musk is warning that artificial intelligence is a “fundamental existential risk for human civilization,” and Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper is looking into how states can respond.

Musk, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO, made the remarks over the weekend at the National Governors Association meeting in Rhode Island. He has long warned of the threats he believes artificial intelligence will pose, from automation to apocalypse. Bill Gates, Stephen Hawking and others have also sounded warnings over AI.

Let me just throw something out there for further consideration. In the Revelation, when discussing the antichrist and his false prophet, we read the following about the false prophet:

Rev 13:15  He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.

Could the image of the beast be describing some sort of artificial intelligence? Time will tell.
From the remaining prophecies, you’d expect there to be talk about one man gaining the power to rule over many governments. Now one of the world’s most powerful men is talking about just that.

We are not looking for any particular sign, or prophecy to be fulfilled. Jesus promised He’d return to rapture His church – which entails the resurrection of the dead in Christ of the Church Age, then the translation from earth to Heaven of all living believers.

It is presented in the Bible as an imminent event.
