Each week, we like to present what we call a Prophecy Update. We do it because there are approximately 500 end times prophecies that are yet to be fulfilled. Since we know that they will be fulfilled, to the letter, we can expect trends in our world, and news items, to anticipate their fulfillment.

We’re not saying the things we present are the fulfillment; only that they are what you’d expect based on reading the Bible from a literal, futurist perspective.

The Bible anticipates a cashless, card-less system of commerce that will depend upon personal identifiers. We get that from the Revelation, where John saw folks conducting all their daily business and buying by something on or in their hand or forehead.

The latest push along these lines comes from the World Olympians Association chief executive. The article I read was titled, Call for athletes to be fitted with microchips in fight against drug cheats.

Athletes need to be fitted with microchips, in a similar way that dogs are, in the fight against drug cheats in sport, according to a leading representative of international sports people.
Mike Miller, the World Olympians Association chief executive, claimed that radical anti-doping methods – including implants to recognize the effects of banned substances – are needed to protect clean sport.

“Some people say we shouldn’t do this to people,” Miller said. “Well, we’re a nation of dog lovers, we’re prepared to chip our dogs and it doesn’t seem to harm them, so why aren’t we prepared to chip ourselves?”

Speaking to anti-doping leaders at a Westminster forum on integrity in sport, Miller said: “In order to stop doping we need to chip our athletes where the latest technology is there. Some people say it’s an invasion of privacy, well, sport is a club and people don’t have to join the club if they don’t want to, if they can’t follow the rules.”

The apostle John, in the first century, saw this type of tech in the end times. The fact that it is here, gaining momentum, should still startle you.

We are not looking for any particular sign, or prophecy to be fulfilled. Jesus promised He’d return to rapture His church – which entails the resurrection of the dead in Christ of the Church Age, then the translation from earth to Heaven of all living believers.
It is presented in the Bible as an imminent event.
