Prophecy Update #505 – Jerusalem

The subject of prophecy takes-up about 30% of the Bible. It’s almost impossible to talk about it too much.

Scholars estimate there are somewhere around 500 unfulfilled last-days prophecies. Since we know they will be fulfilled, we should be able to look around us, in the news, and see trends in the direction the prophecies predict.

We can also point to last days prophecies that have already been fulfilled.

November 29th marked the 70th anniversary of the historic UN vote to partition land for a Jewish state. Many Bible prophecies predicted that the dispersed Jews would return to their land and be a nation once again.

Hos 3:4  For the children of Israel shall abide many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or sacred pillar, without ephod or teraphim.
Hos 3:5  Afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek the LORD their God and David their king. They shall fear the LORD and His goodness in the latter days.

Eze 20:34  I will bring you out from the peoples and gather you out of the countries where you are scattered, with a mighty hand, with an outstretched arm, and with fury poured out.

Isaiah 43:5-6,21 – “Do not be afraid, for I am with you; I will bring your children from the east and gather you from the west. I will say to the north, `Give them up!’ and to the south, `Do not hold them back.’ Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth… the people I formed for myself that they may proclaim my praise.”

With the return of the nation, the ancient Hebrew language has been revived and become the official language of the modern state. This too is a direct fulfillment of prophecy:

Zep 3:9  “For then I will restore to the peoples a pure language, That they all may call on the name of the LORD, To serve Him with one accord.

The restoration of the agriculture and of the trees and forests of Israel has been another remarkable miracle.

Isaiah 26:6 NIV – “In days to come Jacob will take root, Israel will bud and blossom and fill all the world with fruit.”

All this makes it interesting that there are rumors President Trump will recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. An article posted on TimesofIsrael.com stated,

Defying longstanding American policy, US President Donald Trump will give a speech Wednesday recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, according to an Axios report on Friday.

The Axios report cited two sources with direct knowledge of Trump’s intentions.

Multiple reports surfaced this week that the president would for the second time waive a congressional mandate requiring the US embassy be moved from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, but that he would take the dramatic step of formally recognizing the holy city as Israel’s capital.

An Israeli television report on Wednesday, for instance, said that the Israeli government considered it extremely likely that Trump would declare in the next few days that he recognizes Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and that he is instructing his officials to prepare to move the US Embassy to Jerusalem from Tel Aviv. The White House rejected that report as “premature.”

On Tuesday, US Vice President Mike Pence said Trump “is actively considering when and how to move the American embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.” Pence spoke at a gathering of UN ambassadors, diplomats and Jewish leaders at an event in New York commemorating the 70th anniversary of the UN vote for partition of Palestine, which led to the creation of the State of Israel.

Prophecy has been fulfilled to the letter before our very eyes. All the remaining ones will be, too.

We are not looking for any particular sign, or prophecy to be fulfilled. Jesus promised He’d return to rapture His church – which entails the resurrection of the dead in Christ of the Church Age, then the translation from earth to Heaven of all living believers.
It is presented in the Bible as an imminent event.

Are you ready for the rapture? If not, get ready, stay ready, and keep looking up. Ready or not, Jesus is coming!
