Prophecy Update #586 – The Silicon Con

We focus on Bible prophecy each week for about five-minutes, calling it a “Prophecy Update.”

Scholars say that of the 2500 or so prophecies in the Bible, there are approximately 500 prophecies of the End Times that are awaiting fulfillment.

We should see things trending in the direction of those prophecies. For example: The Bible predicted that Israel, and Jerusalem in particular, would be incredibly troublesome politically in the End Times. It was to be expected; and it’s obviously unfolding just as God predicted.

The Mark of the Beast is described in the Book of the Revelation as something on the body – the hand or forehead – that will be necessary in order for a person to be able to buy or sell anything.

It sounds a lot like modern biometric technology – things like facial recognition, or fingerprints, or palm-vein scanning.

In fact, there are a bunch of different biometric resources that could emerge in the future as the Mark.

Implied in the Mark is that the antichrist will be able to use it to gain control over every aspect of the lives of his subjects.

It’s already possible and being implemented.

I’ve reported before, for example, about the social credit system in China. The government is able to restrict travel, and even prevent you from getting certain jobs, based on your social credit score.

Could that kind of control happen here? It is happening here. I was sent an article titled, Uh-oh: Silicon Valley is building a Chinese-style social credit system.

The forward reads: “In China, scoring citizens’ behavior is official government policy. US companies are increasingly doing something similar, outside the law.”

Excerpts:

Have you heard about China’s social credit system? It’s a technology-enabled, surveillance-based nationwide program designed to nudge citizens toward better behavior. The ultimate goal is to “allow the trustworthy to roam everywhere under heaven while making it hard for the discredited to take a single step,” according to the Chinese government.

In place since 2014, the social credit system is a work in progress that could evolve by next year into a single, nationwide point system for all Chinese citizens, akin to a financial credit score. It aims to punish for transgressions that can include membership in or support for the Falun Gong or Tibetan Buddhism, failure to pay debts, excessive video gaming, criticizing the government, late payments, failing to sweep the sidewalk in front of your store or house, smoking or playing loud music on trains, jaywalking, and other actions deemed illegal or unacceptable by the Chinese government.

Many Westerners are disturbed by what they read about China’s social credit system. But such systems, it turns out, are not unique to China.
A parallel system is developing in the United States, in part as the result of Silicon Valley and technology-industry user policies, and in part by surveillance of social media activity by private companies.

The article goes on to list some examples. Our point is that it is so similar to what the Bible predicted in the first century that it sounds made up. But it’s real – and just what you’d expect from reading the Bible.

Jesus promised He’d return to rapture His church – which entails the resurrection of the dead in Christ of the Church Age, then the translation from earth to Heaven of all living believers.

It is presented in the Bible as an imminent (any-moment) event.

Are you ready for the rapture? If not, get ready, stay ready, and keep looking up. Ready or not, Jesus is coming!
