We reserve a few minutes to discuss current trends that you’d expect from reading Bible prophecy.
We are futurists. We interpret all unfulfilled prophetic passages as future events that will occur in a literal, physical, apocalyptic, and global context.
Biometrics, Artificial Intelligence, cashless commerce, the manipulation of human DNA, global government, the exponential growth of human knowledge, and the rebirth of national Israel are End Times phenomena the Bible predicts. All of these are increasingly trending in the news.
The prophecies we most discuss are those that predict a cashless, global economy, that is accessed by a personal identifier. During the future 7-year Great Tribulation, the world leader we call the antichrist will control commerce and travel, indeed every aspect of the lives of his citizens.
The technology is ready. Something like it is happening all over the world in stores, at airports – anywhere biometrics are being used to id a person and permit them to participate in society.
The only thing lacking is to eliminate cash in favor of digital currency.
My research department sent me a Washington Post article titled, Federal Reserve is taking the next step toward possibly launching a digital dollar.

The Federal Reserve… issued a report Thursday that explores the potential benefits and drawbacks of such a move without indicating where it will land.
“We look forward to engaging with the public, elected representatives, and a broad range of stakeholders as we examine the positives and negatives of a central bank digital currency in the United States,” Federal Reserve Chair Jerome H. Powell said in a statement accompanying the report.

For you who understand such things, USA Today said,
Called “central bank digital currencies” (CBDCs), the currency would be equivalent to a digital form of paper money in the United States.
Digital money is already prolific, with many modern transactions occurring over digital wallets and systems. According to an October 2021 piece by Harvard Business Review, over 97% of money in circulation is from online transactions.
However, the digital money used is typically stored in a commercial bank ledger (or a public ledger in the case of cryptocurrency).
In contrast, a CBDC would be a liability of the central bank, meaning it would be backed up and owned by the Federal Reserve. Currently, only physical cash is backed by the Federal Reserve.

One critic wrote, “Once they control access to your money it’s over!
What is your plan for the next medical coercion when your wallet… is inaccessible?”
We see the lengths governments have gone to trying to battle the pandemic. As Tony Stark said, “You see what they did, what they can do.”
If government controlled all your money, they could mandate whatever they wanted. World leaders are already discussing mandates for their proposed climate change restrictions. Dr. Aaron Bernstein, Harvard School of Health, says, “We have many reasons to take climate action to improve our health and reducing risks for infectious disease emergence is one of them.”
Another professional journal writes, “COVID19 and global climate change are linked, and better understanding these linkages can be vital for consumers, companies, and societies at large. First, COVID19 affects global climate change: the dramatic steps taken to fight COVID19 have improved global climate change indicators (e.g., emissions, air/water quality). Second, global climate change bolsters the effects of COVID-19: public and environmental health are inextricably intertwined, and this connection links humanity, from the vulnerable to the wealthy.”

As always, we are not announcing that these developments are the fulfillment of prophecy.
As futurists, we expect the world to be trending in the direction of digital currency… And it is.
We believe the resurrection and rapture of the church are imminent. It could happen any moment; nothing needs to happen before it. It will happen before the Great Tribulation.
Jesus will return in the clouds.
He will raise the dead in Christ.
He will transform the bodies of living believers to glorified, resurrection bodies.
We will all join Him in Heaven while the earth endures one final seven-year campaign of severe evangelism.
