The only way to make sense of what is happening around the world today is to know what is going to happen tomorrow. God has seen fit to tell us a great many things about the future. There are hundreds of yet-to-be fulfilled prophecies in the Bible.

We reserve a few minutes Sunday morning to suggest news, or trends, that seem to be predicted by a literal, futurist reading of the Bible.

To avoid sensationalism, we are careful to use recognized, reliable sources for news.

We’re not saying the things we report are the fulfillment of prophecy. We’re saying that they are the things you’d expect to be happening in the build-up to the future seven year Great Tribulation.

There is an intriguing passage in the Revelation about a statue, a guy we call the false prophet, and the Beast, which is another name of the antichrist.
Apparently an image of the Beast is going to come to “life”:

Rev 13:14 And [the false prophet] deceives those who dwell on the earth – by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. Rev 13:15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.

It sounds a lot like what we would call Artificial Intelligence; AI for short. The world is definitely trending towards more intelligent and more powerful AI.

I read an article titled, AI Trends 2022.

Excerpts:

In 2022, artificial intelligence will have progressed far enough to become the most revolutionary technology ever created by man. According to Google CEO Sundar Pichai, its impact on our evolution as a species will be comparable to fire and electricity. The mere fact that we are already utilizing it to assist us in addressing climate change, exploring space, and developing cancer therapies is enough to show the potential.^[1]

Another article used the concept of evolution. It was titled, Artificial intelligence is evolving all by itself. In the article is this frightening statement:

Artificial intelligence (AI) is evolving – literally. Researchers have created software that borrows concepts from Darwinian evolution, including “survival of the fittest,” to build AI programs that improve generation after generation without human input.^[2]

AI that evolves on its own, using a survival of the fittest paradigm. Especially as we are weaponizing AI controlled devices.

For example, Israel has installed an AI-powered gun at West Bank checkpoint as riot control. Currently it shoots non-lethal rubber bullets.

China released a terrifying video showing a drone carrying beneath it an armed robot dog. After the drone drops the robot on the roof, it simply flies away.

Think of how that might affect the next reboot of the movie, Red Dawn.

The robodog then stands up from its folded position and starts investigating its new location with what looks to be a Chinese QBB-97 light machine gun on its back. They are being called “war dogs descending from the sky.”

Back in April, robot dogs were used to ‘bark’ COVID19 safety measures in Shanghai, China. 

With a loudspeaker strapped to its back, the robodog tells residents in the city’s Jiading district to “wear a mask, wash hands frequently, and check your temperature,” amid COVID19 restrictions.”

Those robodogs could as easily be carrying QBB-97’s.

Put it this way: Weaponized AI robots evolving on their own with the Darwinian mandate Survival of the Fittest. What could go wrong?

Let’s reel this in a little. All I am saying is that AI is a trend you expect from reading a 2000 year old biblical prophecy.

We are witnessing the stage-setting for the seven year Great Tribulation that is described in the last book of the Bible. We will not, however, be on Earth during that terrible Time of Jacob’s Trouble.

The resurrection and rapture of the church are imminent. It could happen any moment; nothing needs to happen before it.

Jesus will come, in the clouds, and raise the dead believers of the Church Age.

He will transform the bodies of living believers to glorified, resurrection bodies. We will join Him in Heaven while the earth endures one final seven-year campaign of severe evangelism.
