The only way to make sense of what is happening around the world today is to know what is going to happen tomorrow. God has seen fit to tell us a great many things about the future. There are hundreds of yet-to-be fulfilled prophecies in the Bible.

We reserve a few minutes Sunday morning to suggest news, or trends, that seem to be predicted by a literal, futurist reading of the Bible.

To avoid sensationalism, we are careful to use recognized, reliable sources for news.

We’re not saying the things we report are the fulfillment of prophecy. We’re saying that they are the things you’d expect to be happening in the build-up to the future seven year Great Tribulation.

The last book of the Bible, the Revelation, is mostly future prophecy. The grand daddy is the Mark of the Beast:

Rev 13:16  … all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave… receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads,
Rev 13:17  … no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast [antichrist], or the number of his name.

We live at the time in the only time in human history in which it is possible for a universal ‘mark’ to control a person’s every behavior.

Case in point. I read an article titled, Australia bets on facial recognition for problem gamblers.

Excerpts:

As guests arrive at eastern Australia’s Warilla Hotel, a small camera equipped with facial recognition software scans their faces as part of a scheme to tackle problem gambling.

The tech – which uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) to identify addicts who have asked to be barred from betting sites – is set to be rolled out across gambling venues in the state of New South Wales next year.

Supporters say it will help curb problem gambling in a country where the addiction affects about 1% of the population and annual losses run to billions of dollars.

Facial recognition technology is increasingly used for everything from unlocking mobile phones to checking in for flights. It has also been adopted by some police forces.^[1]

It is voluntary until it isn’t. Once there is no paper currency, and your money is digital, the government can control any behavior it deems necessary for the greater good. Everything will require approval.

We’ve seen some of this as governments mandated certain behaviors for the pandemic. Science took a backseat to government. And for saying that, if we lived in the total digital age, the government could shut me down with the push of a button.

We are witnessing the stage-setting for the seven year Great Tribulation that is described in the last book of the Bible. We will not, however, be on Earth during that terrible Time of Jacob’s Trouble.

The resurrection and rapture of the church are imminent. It could happen any moment; nothing needs to happen before it.

Jesus will come, in the clouds, and raise the dead believers of the Church Age. He will transform the bodies of living believers to glorified, resurrection bodies.

We will join Him in Heaven while the earth endures one final seven-year campaign of severe evangelism.
